L.A. County Library launches free tutoring program for elementary, middle school students (KTLA 5)

The Los Angeles County Library is launching a new free in-person tutoring program to support students in first through sixth grade.

Following the success of the library’s Reading Stars and Summer Stars programs, Students Together Achieving Results, or STAR, tutoring will include both reading and math support.

The free program launched Tuesday and will be offered at the following LA County Library locations.

The tutoring program will be structured into spring, summer and fall sessions that will be conducted in small group formats.

Families can choose to focus on math or reading for each session, allowing support to be tailored to individual learning needs.

The program is designed to complement school-based learning and provide consistent academic support throughout the year.
